Jorge Garcia, PCB Assistant Conductor, has been involved in music education since
1969. He has taught music on all levels from kindergarten to college.
He has conducted several honor groups including the Memorial Orchestra for
President Chiang Kai-shek, the Sino-American Honor Band, and the Taiwan Youth
Symphony Orchestra. He has toured Europe playing tuba with the School
Band of America and won solo competitions in both California and Heidelberg,
Germany. He is President-Emeritus and founder of the American Drum Line
Association, a member of the American Guild of Handbell Ringers, and the
National Consortium of Life Long Learning. A noted lecturer and presenter
on "Motivation in the Classroom" and "Hymnody in the 21st century Church," he
has given presentations in several different countries and will be a speaker at the
International Handbell Symposium in Brisbane, Australia, in the Summer of 2006.
He joined the PCB in 2005.
