Jorge Garcia, PCB Assistant Conductor, has been involved in music education since
1969. He has taught music on all levels from college to kindergarten.
He has conducted several honor groups including the Memorial Orchestra for
President Chiang Kai-shek, the Sino-American Honor Band, and the Taiwan Youth
Symphony Orchestra. He has toured Europe playing tuba with the School
Band of America and won solo competitions in both California and Heidelberg,
Germany. He is President-Emeritus and founder of the American Drum Line
Association, a member of the American Guild of Handbell Ringers, and the National
Consortium of Life Long Learning. A noted lecturer and presenter on "Motivation
in the Classroom," "Hymnody in the 21st Century Church," and "Music and Lifelong
Learning," he has given presentations in several different countries and will be a
speaker at the International Conference of Lifelong Learning in Budapest, Hungary,
in the fall of 2007. He joined the PCB in 2005.
