Dr. Anthony Mazzaferro We are privileged to welcome Dr. Anthony Mazzaferro back to the podium tonight after enthusiastic receptions in prior years from our audience and band members alike.  After graduating with honors in 1978 from San Francisco State University, he attended Northwestern University to pursue a Master of Music degree in Instrumental Conducting.  In 1986 he received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University.

Previous to his appointment at Fullerton College, Dr. Mazzaferro taught for the Mount Diablo and Palo Alto Unified School District conducting both elementary and secondary instrumental ensembles.  He has wide experience as a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator throughout the U.S. and internationally.  On his principal instrument, tuba, he has performed with numerous bands and orchestras throughout California.

Dr. Mazzaferro is currently the Director of Bands at Fullerton College.  In addition to his academic assignments, He conducts the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Community Band, and instructs Applied Euphonium and Tuba.  He is also completing his thirteenth year as Principal Conductor of the Symphonic Winds of the Pacific, formerly the Claremont Symphonic Winds.  We are indeed honored to follow his baton this evening.
