G. Stanton Selby G. Stanton Selby served the community of Pomona enthusiastically and energetically throughout his residence.  After graduating from San Jose State College and the University of Southern California with degrees in music he joined the faculty of Mt. San Antonio College.  Founding the Pomona Concert Band in 1947 he served as its Conductor for 57 years until his death in 2004.

He also served the City Pomona as Councilman and Mayor, and Chair of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.  In addition, he left the band with a collection of his original compositions and arrangements.

Pomona Concert Band Outstanding high school instrumentalists are invited for membership in the Pomona Conert Band.  Reading and performing a wide repertoire under skilled leadership promotes their musical growth as well as supplementing the band's membership.  PCB appreciates the support of the Pomona Unified School District in this aspect of our program.
