Claremont Symphony Orchestra For 60 years, the Claremont Symphony Orchestra has provided musical enrichment to residents of Claremont and its surrounding communities.  The CSO is an all-volunteer community orchestra based in Claremont, California.  It also provides outreach to young artists through the donation-sponsored Claremont Youth Symphony Orchestra.  Music Director Robert Sage leads the CSO in its 60th season providing FREE classical music concerts to Claremont and its neighboring communities.  Before tonight's concert they will host a traveling Musical Instrument Petting Zoo.

Robert Sage Robert Sage has been a member of the Orchestra for 25 years as both piano soloist and Associate Conductor, during which time he has performed a substantial portion of the piano concerto repertoire and has conducted a number of memorable concerts during both the regular and summer seasons.  Dr. Sage is in his 30th year as Professor of Music at Azusa Pacific University, where he teaches Piano Performance and Music Literature, and where he conducts for the Opera Workshop.  He is also Director of Music for Lyric Opera of Los Angeles (for ten years) and St. John's Episcopal Church in La Verne (twenty-nine years).  His Master's and Doctoral degrees in Piano Performance were both taken at the University of Southern California, under the tutelage of Lillian Steuber.  He also studied with Harry Datyner, of the Geneva (Switzerland) Conservatory, and has taken master classes in conducting under the direction of Herbert Blomstedt and David Willcocks.
